The targeted machine tools total 760 units operating across five factories. The visualization of previously invisible standby power has enabled efforts to improve energy efficiency and energy productivity for machine tools, which were difficult to address before. Furthermore, it has led to a transformation in awareness on-site and revitalized communication. We will introduce a case study of improvements in FA (Factory Automation) sites proposed by Patlite. A manufacturing plant was considering the construction of an operational management and monitoring system that includes outdated equipment that has been in use for 10 years. To collect data, modifications to the equipment were necessary, which made costs and implementation time a barrier, hindering progress in improvements. In response, we proposed our network products that can be easily implemented with existing equipment.
